Carlos, the penultimate King of Portugal, lived between 1863 and 1908. He was considered one of the greatest diplomats of his time, as recognised by countries such as England, Brazil, France, Germany, and the United States. In addition to his royal duties, he also dedicated himself to painting and oceanography. We seek to describe his life, highlighting the main facts of the assassination. He was assassinated in Terreiro de Paço, upon his return from Vila Viçosa. This assassination was never clarified because great interests were at stake.
