Caravel Pin
The lateen-rigged Caravel is referred to as such, in 1440, by Gomes Eanes Zurara. It was thought to be a vessel with two masts of Lateen cloth, ideal for "discover", by the ease it sailed by the wind. This metal pin represents a miniature of this mythical vessel.
