Portuguese Colonization of Guinea 1880-1960

In a territory profusely crossed by waterways where vessels have always played a relevant role, and where the Navy was very strongly engaged in the last war of the empire (1963-1974), it seemed interesting to make known to today's generations the Navy's contribution to the Portuguese presence in that area, in more remote but not so distant times, and the nautical conditions under which this took place, from the advent of our liberal constitutionalism.

"Portuguese" Guinea (today the Republic of Guinea-Bissau) will, therefore, be the central focus of this research, but with particular attention dedicated to its Navy.
