The introduction is printed in continuous text and the studies in two columns. It contains an introduction to the work, two studies on the author: "D. Carlos de Bragança, naturalist and oceanographer" by Mário Ruivo, Deputy Director of the Institute of Marine Biology, and "D. Carlos de Bragança, Artist" by Maria de Lourdes Bartholo, Director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, followed by the facsimile of the handwritten, watercoloured diary, containing photogravures and lists of catches by the king and researcher, between May 5 and 29, 1897, collected in the Sesimbra and Tróia areas. Publisher's cardboard binding, decorated on the covers with a black border, gilded fillets and D. Carlos's super-libris.
