History of the Portuguese Navy - Voyages and Naval Operations 1824-1974
Introduction
This volume of the «History of the Portuguese Navy» is dedicated to Voyages and Naval Operations in the period from 1824 to 1974. Interestingly, the last great naval battle between two squadrons took place right at the beginning of this period and involved Portuguese ships on both sides of the battle.
The authors all have in common the fact that they are Navy Officers and also have higher education in Maritime History or the History of Discoveries. However, they have diverse life and research paths, with different personal styles or practices, but no less established: respect for the individuality of writing styles was taken as a given, without editorial intervention.
