"The work published here is the result of the painstaking and careful research carried out by three important collaborators of the Navy Museum: Dr. Manuel Leitão, Commander Ferdinando Oliveira Simões and Captain António Marques da Silva.
It brings together, for the first time, all available information about this very characteristic Tagus River vessel and also presents some terms of comparison with foreign vessels that used the same type of fishing: trawling abeam or by drift.
In addition to the detailed study, well illustrated with all the images that could be gathered about this vessel, several detailed drawings were added to facilitate the study and understanding of the operation and maneuvering of the sail of this vessel.
